Blueberry Cinnamon Smoothie
This is my kids’ favorite smoothie hands down. (Shouldn’t it be hands up? Who came up with hands down?) Sometimes we swap out the frozen blueberries for frozen strawberries or peaches or mangoes but we always come back to the blueberries. Enjoy!
1 c orange juice
1 banana, broken into chunks
1 1/2 c of frozen blueberries
a shake of cinnamon
a squeeze of honey (about 1 tsp)
a handful of ice (about 1 cup)
Put your ingredients into your blender in the order listed above. I have learned that you want to keep the frozen bits up and away from the blade so the blade doesn’t freeze and simply spins instead of blending. Blend until smooth.
Pour into 2 large glasses or 4 medium ones. Drop in a straw. Drink and enjoy!
YIELD: 2-4 servings, depending on glass size

Heaven, I agree…I can’t even think when my house is messy either (which is why I can’t think most of the time) and I always want to blame the kids for most of the piles laying around but if I’m honest…most of the time it’s my stuff I’ve left around like a trail. Gads….

Somehow, no matter how many play areas I install, my kids always come back to the living room with their lego / dolls / cars / play dough…
Love the smoothie recipe. I make loads of these but mine usually have milk, not OJ. Will have to try this.

Rivki, They just want to be where Mommy is. 🙂 And yes, try it with the oj. We stopped using milk or yogurt in our smoothies quite a few years ago since I’ve got a guy who doesn’t do well with dairy products. The banana seems to give it such a creamy feel that the dairy isn’t missed.

Oh, how you will miss that sound some day. Bryan got out the Legos a couple of weeks ago for the first time in years and it was music to my heart. I even got a little teary-eyed.

I will have to admit Linda, that the 12-year old hung out on the landing recently and made a ship “for his little brother.” I loved seeing him there.

I love this post so much. My kids are out of the lego stage, and I can’t seem to give away the huge basket of legos…I’m holding on to it because…because…thank you for such a beautifully written post! xoxox
Carrie says
Oh, Kate, thank you. Perhaps you’re hanging onto the basket of legos for the same reason I have dolls under beds and wooden trains and tracks in a box on a top shelf of a closet. xo
